Experimental Center of Civil Engineering

The college has eight laboratories. Among them, the structural engineering laboratory is the key laboratory of Fujian University. The center was approved in 2009 as Fujian Provincial undergraduate experimental teaching demonstration center and in 2010 as national undergraduate experimental teaching demonstration center. The total area of the center is over 17,000 m2, with SVT earthquake simulation shaking tables array system, MTS electro-hydraulic servo loading system, 20000kN electro-hydraulic servo compression and shear testing systems and so on. The total values of laboratory equipment reach 76.3 million RMB.

SVT Earthquake Simulation Shaking Tables Array System

SVT earthquake simulation shaking tables array system has three shaking tables, which include a central fixed 4.1m×4.1m table (the full payload is 22 tons), and two moveable 2.5m×2.5m tables (the full payload is 10 tons) located at each side. The work frequency range of this system is 0.1～50Hz, the maximum acceleration with full payload is 1.5g, the maximum stroke is 250mm and the maximum effect working length is 24m.

MTS Electro-hydraulic Servo Loading System

MTS electro-hydraulic servo loading system is applied to pseudo-static seismic test and pseudo-dynamic seismic test on structures of building and bridge. The MTS structural system can provide multidimensional and multipoint loadings, which has seven actuators. Several tests can be carried out at the same time with the help of the strong reaction walls.

20000kN Compressive and Shear Loading System

Compressive and shear loading system can provide vertical compression and tension load of 20000kN and 4000kN respectively, which can test large stubs and isolation bearings. Moreover, the horizontal compressive or tensile load is 30000kN, with its work frequency range of 0.1～50Hz.
