Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory on Multi-Disasters Prevention and Mitigation in Civil Engineering relies on the Civil Engineering discipline of Fuzhou University. There are 47 fixed personnel at present, and the director of the laboratory is Prof. Zhuo Weidong. The Laboratory has advanced large-scale instruments and equipment of international level valuing at CNY 76.3 million in total, including the triple seismic simulators system, MTS electro-hydraulic servo loading system, 20,000 kN electro-hydraulic servo compression and shear testing machine system, etc.
The Laboratory is mainly committed to experimental research on the following five interests:
(1) Earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation of engineering structures
Taking high-rise buildings, long-span spatial structures, large complex bridge structures, and urban infrastructure as the objects, the Laboratory is to reveal the seismic effects and structural response mechanisms of such major engineering structures, and establish a modern design theoretical framework with seismic performance design theory as the main line.
(2) Information technology of disaster prevention and mitigation in civil engineering
Based on the engineering application of IOT, the Laboratory is dedicated to the construction of civil engineering disaster prevention and mitigation information database system, platform, and monitoring and service center, applying advanced information processing technology to analyze massive information with high precision, so as to realize more accurate monitoring of engineering disasters and improve the disaster prevention capacity of engineering structures.
(3) Study on vibration and dynamic convulsion control of engineering structures
The Laboratory is dedicated to such studies as the simulation of typhoon wind characteristics and wind field in Fujian, wind vibration mechanism and vibration control of engineering structures, wind-induced responses of bridges and building structures under the typhoon action, and mutual vibration of bridge structures caused by the traffic, and has made positive contributions to the infrastructure construction and control of wind-induced disasters in civil engineering in Fujian province.
(4) Study on new structures and materials based on disaster prevention performance
The Laboratory is dedicated to the research, development and application of new structures and materials based on disaster prevention performance. It has conducted new material development of high-performance concrete for geological materials in Fujian Province, research on the composition, microstructure and performance of high-performance concrete, and R&D and application of new structures using high-performance concrete, providing references for infrastructure construction and civil engineering structure disaster prevention in Fujian Province.
(5) Prevention of geological and water disasters in geotechnical engineering
The Laboratory is mainly dedicated to the research in the field of geological disasters caused by geotechnical activities and water disasters in highway engineering.
