Recently, Professor Shen Weimin of our College traveled to Argentina to conduct technical cooperation docking on prefabricated construction and academic exchanges with universities. He successfully completed technical services and negotiations on inter-university cooperation, achieving tangible results in promoting the College’s internationalized school running and overseas technical cooperation.

Precisely meeting industrial demands to ensure the implementation of overseas projects. On local time March 20th, immediately upon his arrival in Argentina, Professor Shen Weimin conducted business exchanges with local prefabricated construction enterprises. Previously, the prefabricated structural system and component production system, jointly led by Professor Shen Weimin and Professor Huang Jianzhuo, have already been applied to multiple real estate development projects in Argentina, with the supporting production equipment exported from China already shipped to the local area. During this visit, Professor Shen Weimin provided on-site assistance in equipment installation and commissioning. He held in-depth discussions with the enterprise on the entire process details including component production, cross-border transportation, and on-site construction, to solve practical technical challenges. These efforts ensured the steady progress of the projects and realized the localization and application of our College’s prefabricated construction technology in South America.

Deepening Inter-University Collaboration and Signing Standard Co-construction Agreements. On March 25th local time, Professor Shen Weimin was invited to visit the Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM) in Argentina. He was received with high hospitality by Vice Chancellor Alex Roig, as well as the University Secretary and the Director of the Chinese Affairs Department. All three university representatives have extensive experience visiting China. During the visit, Professor Shen Weimin visited the university’s campus and teaching facilities on site. Subsequently, both sides held in-depth discussions and exchanges. The university introduced its educational history and professional characteristics, expressed its willingness to further deepen cooperation with Fuzhou University, and planned to promote joint student exchange programs. It also expressed its desire to serve as a bridge and link between Fuzhou University and universities in South America. Through friendly consultations, the College of Civil Engineering at Fuzhou University and the Universidad Nacional de San Martin in Argentina officially signed a cooperation agreement. Both sides will jointly develop industry standards for prefabricated construction in Argentina. Memorial gifts were exchanged between the two parties. The visit concluded successfully.

This visit is an important initiative taken by the College to promote internationalization in industry-university-research cooperation and expand cooperation channels in South America.
