On the morning of May 15, 2026, the International Cooperation and Exchange Symposium between Fuzhou University and Tribhuvan University of Nepal was successfully held in the Conference Room on the 6th Floor of the School of Civil Engineering, Fuzhou University. The symposium was chaired by Professor Yuan Huihui, Assistant to the Dean of the School of Civil Engineering, Fuzhou University. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on such topics as academic research, talent cultivation, and joint discipline construction, and explored new paths for cooperative development.

At the beginning of the symposium, Mr. Wu Tangfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Civil Engineering, Fuzhou University, delivered a welcome speech. He extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Tribhuvan University of Nepal, and briefly introduced the development heritage, disciplinary advantages and internationalization achievements of Fuzhou University and the School of Civil Engineering. He expressed his expectation that the two sides would take this symposium as an opportunity to build a long-term cooperative bridge and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Dr. Binod Kumar Bhattarai, Assistant to the Dean of the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University of Nepal; Dr. Sanjaya Uprety, Director of the Pulchowk Campus; and Associate Professor Dr. Kshitij Charan Shrestha took turns introducing the university’s educational characteristics, disciplinary layout, research priorities and talent training models of the Institute of Engineering. They focused on sharing the research achievements and development plans of the university in such relevant fields as civil engineering, urban and rural planning, and environmental engineering, and expressed their strong desire to deepen cooperation with Fuzhou University.
Subsequently, Jiang Jianfeng, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at Fuzhou University, introduced the university’s overall development, international cooperation strategy, and international student training system. Relevant officials from the School of Civil Engineering, School of Architecture and Urban-Rural Planning, and School of Environment and Safety Engineering at Fuzhou University made detailed presentations on discipline construction, faculty strength, research platforms, and international cooperation cases of their respective schools, clearly demonstrating the university’s comprehensive strength and cooperation potential in civil engineering, architecture, environment and other disciplines.
During the discussion session, participants from both sides held enthusiastic and in-depth exchanges on key topics including academic collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, and international student education. Both sides agreed that Tribhuvan University and Fuzhou University are highly compatible in disciplinary fields and enjoy broad prospects for cooperation.

The successful holding of this symposium marks an important measure for Fuzhou University to deepen international exchanges and cooperation and advance the process of internationalized education. It has further consolidated the friendly cooperative relations between Fuzhou University and Tribhuvan University of Nepal, and injected new impetus into in-depth cooperation between the two sides in various disciplinary fields.
