Led by Professor Jean Paul Burak, a delegation from Manitoba University (Canada) visited the Civil Engineering College of Fuzhou University on September 9, 2014. Prof. Jean Paul, the assistant principal of Manitoba University, together with the other three visitors, by the guidance of Prof./Dean CHEN Baochun, visited the faculty and the laboratories, which followed a detailed discussion about the future cooperation between the two parties.

The meeting was held in the conference room of the Civil Engineering College on the second floor. After a brief introduction of the universities, the visitors from the University of Manitoba and the representatives of Fuzhou University exchanged their opinions regarding the possible cooperative education on Civil Engineering. After the meeting, the delegation visited the laboratory and facilities of our college.

The University of Manitoba was built in 1877. It is the first university in Western Canada with a history of over 130 years. The university is the largest and the most comprehensive research university in Manitoba. The main campus covers 274 hectares, with nearly 30,000 students and more than 80 kinds of degrees. A Chinese-foreign cooperative education project is in plan between the University of Manitoba and Fuzhou University, in which our college is expected to take part.
