Growing from the Cross-straits Research Center for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation Engineering in Civil Engineering in Fujian Province, the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation Informatization in Civil Engineering (hereinafter referred to as the "National and Local Joint Center for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation") was established with the approval of National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China in 2012. The National and Local Joint Center for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation relies on Fuzhou University's national key discipline of "Structural Engineering" (cultivated) and civil engineering, a first-level discipline authorized to grant doctoral degrees, and cooperates with the Earthquake Administration of Fujian Province and the civil engineering circles of Chinese Taiwan. The Center is committed to developing the earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation informatization and innovation capabilities in civil engineering, solving key technical issues in the development of related industries, promoting sci-tech progress of industries, promoting the development of the local economy, and becoming a platform for cooperation between enterprises, universities, and research institutes and a world-class innovation platform jointly built by both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
The Center is mainly composed of: 1) Institute of Structural Engineering; 2) Institute of Mechanics and Disaster Prevention; 3) Research Office of Website Construction; 4) Research Office of Cloud Computing; 5) Research Office of Internet of Things Application; 6) Research Office of Engineering Seismic Mitigation and Isolation; 7) Research Office of Bridge Engineering Monitoring and Reinforcement; 8) Research Office of Architectural Engineering Monitoring and Reinforcement; 9) Research Office of Special Structure Earthquake Resistance; 10) Joint Internet of Things Laboratory; and 11) Cloud website laboratory.
